Arkansas Roads

On a stretch of smooth road the McLaren can reach speeds of two hundred and thirty miles per hour. On mountainous roads it hugs into the curves with breath-taking ease. The world’s fastest sports car is quick off the line, too. It can go from a shimmering standstill to 60 miles per hour in only 3.1 seconds. In less than seven seconds it can achieve 100 mile per hour from a dead stop.

When you think about the popular 1970s television hit Vega$, the first thing that hits your mind's eye is probably a 1957 Thunderbird with the personalized license plate: TANNA on the back.. The night is dark and the lights from the strip are reflecting off the brilliant paint job on detective Dan Tanna’s Thunderbird. Only a scant handful of television cars have risen to become such a public icon. Robert Urich, the star of the show, liked to say that the Hi Tech Thunderbird received more fan mail than he ever did. Even though he was probably exaggerating, it makes our memories brighter to think that he might have been right. While the Hi Tech Car Telephone did allow him to stay in contact with his Office, even a short length conversation had Tanna driving in ever decreasing circles since the area of Vegas that was considered photogenic was extremely small.

Get the Low Down On Lowering Insurance Costs For Your Sports Car. With sports cars costing up to a million dollars each it is doubly important that you focus on getting GOOD auto insurance. There is a reason for high rates and you'll see at least one of them any time you visit a parts store. Skimping on coverage can hold your costs down, but may leave you inadequately protected when you NEED coverage. On the other hand, smart insurance shopping and an all out effort to implement a few cost-saving options may allow you to afford sufficient coverage for your sports car at a rate far lower than you might have expected.

A great place to begin a black history tour in Baltimore is the National Great Blacks In Wax Museum, housing more than 100 life-size wax figures—including Frederick Douglass, Harriett Tubman and Benjamin Banneker—presented in dramatic and historical scenes. A most compelling highlight is the dramatic walk through the museum’s replica slave ship, complete with Middle Passage history. Then journey through 400 years of African American history at the new Reginald F. Lewis Museum of African American History & Culture, the largest of its kind on the East Coast. With interactive permanent exhibitions, exciting changing exhibitions and engaging programs, the museum is fast becoming a major regional attraction.
